3512 Caterpillar 1500kW Load Test

I finally got another video posted on Youtube. This is one is of a load test on a Caterpillar 3512 1500kW diesel generator set. We tested this unit for a little over an hour and it did extremely well. Mustang Caterpillar came out to witness the test for our customer.

Hurricane Season Is Here!!!!!

It is that time of year again. With any luck we will not have any major hurricanes hit the US again this year. I am currently working on an emergency preparedness plane for our company as well as our family of employees. Speaking from experience after the devistating storms Katrina and Rita, it is way too hectic to try to plan where everyone evacuates to in the heat of the moment. We are working on a dedicated generator set to provide power for our facility should we have an outage during a storm. We are also looking at putting together supplies to make a shelter for our employees a storm force them from their homes.

High Fuel Prices

I can't believe the price of fuel, it cost me over $150 to fill up this morning. With the increased price diesel generator operators are bound to be feeling the pinch as well. I wonder how many companies with diesel generators will look at switching to natural gas generators? Each carry their own distinct advantage over the other, with the price of fule this high diesel generators are bound to lose a good portion of their advantages. We have seen an increase in demand for natural gas generator sets, we completed our first load test on a natural gas generator set just yesterday. The test went extremely well, we will be getting new larger gas service so we can test larger natural gas generator sets as well. I believe that we will continue to see increased sales of natural gas generator sets as long as diesel fuel prices continue to rise.
